When did Lisa Raye become an “A” list actress? Has she ever been an “A” list actress? Her claim to fame is playing a stripper in The Players Club, which was just ok, right. The Players Club wasn’t a great movie. It was watchable, but that’s about it. The sitcom she was in, All Of Us, was good and wholesome, but was only on for 4 seasons. She has posed in a few men’s magazines through the years, appeared in a few music videos, and appeared in a few forgettable movies/sitcoms here and there. She is super fine, but so are a lot of Hollywood actresses and wannabe actresses. How did she leapfrog over Halle Berry, Sanaa Lathan, Angela Bassett, and others? Like these actresses or not, at least they can say that they have had a viable career in Hollywood. Who is better than Angela Bassett? Halle has an Oscar for goodness sake (not commenting on Halle’s role in the movie, just the fact that she has some credibility). Also, Lisa Raye admitted to her shallowness by admitting to the fact that she didn’t really love her “estranged” husband before they were married. He ran the game on her by saying that they would date each other while they are married. How bass ackward is that? That type of logic works for a player and only a gold-digger would fall for it. Now, the chickens have come home to roost. He seemed to have perpetrated a fraud (as far as the money is concerned). Maybe he didn’t have as much money as he told her. Or maybe he did and he finally realized that if he can get out of paying a “jumpoff” a ton of money, he would. Who out there would marry a “jumpoff” type of lady and then realize it wasn’t all it was cracked up to be and then give them money (a lot of it) if they didn’t have to? She had game and he had game. He happened to be the “premier” of the Turks and Caicos Islands. What single lady wouldn’t fall for him? What gold-digger/jumpoff wouldn’t jump at that opportunity? In the end, they all seemed to get what they deserved, him out of power and Lisa Raye, back at it again, with dollar signs in her eyes. She seems to be the one left holding the bag, but that’s what happens to people who marry and hook-up for money. She gives off the appearance of someone who is always on the go with outrageous fashion designers, stylists, luxury cars, etc. Low and behold, we found out that the Bentley isn’t really hers and she is relying on someone else to pay the note. We found out that she relies on someone else to pay her bills (“ex husband”). She was really distraught when it was advised that she give up on the idea of the prenuptial agreement being enforced. It’s really stupid and immature to supposedly spend money that she doesn’t have. You can’t sustain a lifestyle like that without a steady income stream. I imagine that a lot of it was for show, thanks to “reality TV”. Who can pay a car note, house note, credit cards bills, etc. without a job or without money coming in from some money stream? We can’t do it and Lisa Raye can’t do it, especially living the Hollywood lifestyle. She hasn’t done enough to have that kind of money “stacked”. Think about it, her career has been just ok and she comes off as being a Hollywood diva and is sort of back on the scene. Holler at Halle Berry and see how Hollywood treats black actresses with an actual Oscar. Ask Angela Bassett how things are going in terms of prime roles. Notice how all of our beloved black treasures are over forty years old. We love them, but Hollywood doesn’t treat our black queens right. Get in line Lisa Raye. The line is long too, full of broken dreams. Lisa Raye has done more than most people who have ever hoped to do anything in Hollywood. But she is basically forgettable in terms of the big picture and she is sort of delusional and she is not all that she thinks she is or ever was. Again, she is super fine, but so are a lot of Hollywood starlets (black and white), except, she is 20 years older than they are. The only people who do reality TV are wannabes and has-beens. She may be a little bit of both and more of the former…..

Lisa Ray show was ok but it was very strange and disgusting the way she kept kissing her daughter it was so gross that i couldn’t finish watching her show. She needs to find a man she is plain nasty and gross.
The Real McCoy was very interesting to say the least. I agree with most of the comments that DPHouse made from the street stand point. However,I must say that it saddens me to see that you have gained so much, but have lost so much more.
I watched your show to see if your spirit had changed, but i see that it hasn’t. I once heard you on the radio and you were so rude and nasty to the callers. The Universe is just and you must be careful of what you release into it. You wear white and you are beautiful, so try to become a beautiful person internally with GRACE and HUMILITY. I was also watching because of my 13 y/o daughter. I spent more time telling her how not to behave like television and being Hard and Real has a time and a place. And that you have not released your past hurts and are showing alot of pain and bitterness when she stated “I thought she was different,not ghetto”.
I don’t know if I can allow her to continue to watch the show because it does not display what I’m teaching during the few hours of T.V. time that she is allowed. I wish you the best of luck and to regain all that you have lost and so much more.

We recognized as one and that’s all that matters if u don’t like it fall back.In addition, this is a reality show so you might want to tell your 13 yr old daughter to watch something else. It allows women of color to connect to obstacles in life we all may need to deal with someday. As a parent I like how close she & her daughter are, which makes a difference in the world we live today. Keep checking on her she know it’s out of love. Keep up the good work! DPHOUSE, you said it all! I didn’t know anything about her so I tried to watch her show. Like all reality shows, it’s staged. But it’s hard to tell how much is fake and how much is her. She is very pretty, but that alone won’t carry you through. What bothered me most is that her grammer is so poor. It’s hard to believe that people still speak like this; we’ve come too far for this type of ignorance. Her poor skills really stood out when she was speaking with Sharpton and the attorney. That scene make her look just dumb. If her main claim to fame is Players Club, she should be ashamed of herself. This is the type of show that sets us back 50 years. I know that this show will appeal to some, but a person has to have a certain mindset to find this show even slightly entertaining. Also, the editing of the scenes is really bad!
I just want to say, I am not a hater I like Lisa Raye. She isn’t the best actress, but nice when I met her in person. The show is quite boring and over the top. What the hell is with all the white? Really? And did you say out of your mouth that your marriage was a business arrangement? OMG!. Now you want money. I dont think you should get any.

The show was a little boring for me so i dont think i’ll be tunning in for more episodes but Lisa looks stunning. Happy to see a sista doing her thing.

I tuned in to check out Ms. LisaRaye and I must say, I am not impressed! Her ghetto mindset is totally backwards for her to be as old as she is. DPHouse said a mouthful. The more she spoke, the more ignorant she sounded (literally and figuratively). She needs a SERIOUS dose of humility and reality. She brags about being a “platinum” digger, but what has it gotten her? First she was Gary Patton’s mistress for umpteen years, and now she’s chasing after some man’s money from a divorce. Come on now! She’s a pretty girl, but clearly she has issues that she really needs to handle. Real, grown women find her to be foolish!

I have been a fan of Lisa Raye for quite some time. However, after watching her show, it really changed my impression of her. I must say I was disappointed, and DP House is not hating he is stating obvious facts. What really concerned me is that Lisa married her husband with the wrong intention. For those who are speaking of Christ…God does not want us to enter into marriage lightly. However, that was not my main focus. Did she really believe the Premier had that much money. That was laughable and it showed me that she is not educated about royalty. People the Premier did not “lie”, Turks and Caicos, as in all royalty holds the purse strings. The funds are not held in his name. He probably receives an allowance as does Prince Charles, but the money belongs to the people of Turks and Caicos. So, did he have access to that much money…probably so, but is the money his; NOT! Ask Fergie the Dutchess…She had money until she divorced. That is the only way the country could protect themselves from going bankrupt. Unfortunately, I pray Lisa learn to love folk for who that are and not what they are. It sounds like the playa got played.
I also like Ms Raye but I understand what DPHouse and LMB are saying. I was very surprised when she said that her marriage was a business arrangement. If it truly was a business arrangement than you may want to enroll in some business classes. Seems that you should have done your homework on this man before you agreed to this deal and maybe you could have spared yourself some of this grief.

Lisa as a criminal justice major. I just want you to know that the laws are written to protect the criminals. So since your ex is the criminal he will be protected under the law. If I were you I would remember that it is written “Vengeance is mine said the Lord.” So every time you feel like taking vengeance on your ex just say these words out loud “I want to avenge myself; however, because it is written “Vengeance is mind said the Lord; I will repay.” I will have to leave my ex to God. To get the ultimate justification now, is to write a tell-all book on his behind – you have nothing to lose but a whole lot of GREEN to cash in on. THIS YOU CAN TAKE TO THE BANK.
Please make sure that it is done to a very high standard of writing integrity, (no ghetto mess… at all please) with a strong editor and a strong publishing house – trust me if the book is done correctly you stand to gain millions as it will appeal to a much wider audience. Hell it could even make the best seller list, you stand a chance of going on prime time shows across America promoting your book thus getting REAL exposure and having a real career, more movie rolls/offers, thus more exposure, thus even more movie rolls.

First, I’ll say that I’ve watched LisaRaye for years. She’s beautiful, talented, and independent. A part of me wants to applaud people that feel that they find love quickly and want to tie the knot to be “right” spiritually. Let’s face it. She didn’t know that man. It’s hard to live around the corner from someone and really KNOW that person. It’s hard to know how they will treat you under certain circumstances. I’m not saying that he was 100% at fault. However, I do think that they moved way too fast. It was probably like a fantasy for her to marry a man with the status that she felt he had. Men with real money will NEVER tell you how much they have before they marry you. When numbers get thrown, it’s kinda like the number that a woman throws when asked how many sex partners she’s had. It’s gonna sound good for the occasion.
She feels like she will get her money back and I would applaud her if she did. Misick is in another country though. I like the show, and I have always liked LisaRaye. However, the only thing that I find to be very distasteful is her blatant disregard for others when it is time for her to show up to events. It is so obvious that it is not as if she is so busy and the tardiness is totally out of her control, but she blatantly takes her time. The way she shows up to events is such a lack of disrespect and disingenuinous toward the host of the events. It was very painful to watch how the lady at the fashion show had to ask if they thought they should hold the show for her. She really needs to get herself together, because she has this show with hopes to return back to hollywood. No real producers and directors are going to want to be bothered with her with that type of attitude. Get yourself together LisaRaye, really.

First…I am GLAD Lisa Raye has the type of popularity that she would even be given a show. So HOORAY for THAT!

Cuz geniuses as a photographer’s assistant I can tell you when they do the photos they just move. They take 100 different shots in 100 different poses. 100 shots in the same pose = waste of film. Even though they did a “back shot” (please stop saying ass shot) a lot the time, those photos are cropped and shown from the waist up. And like she said, she never signed off on that photo to be released. You get to see the negatives (unless done digitally) and if you have buyer’s remorse you can hold off on those photos. You cannot use a person’s likeness without consent.

I am not necessarily a fan of yours but I have heard of ya and have seen Players Club and a few episodes of All of US. I enjoyed the last episode, compared to the others I felt it was perhaps more sincere and your a bit of your true self was shinning through. By the way I am a Chicagoan and have been all my life, so I appreciated many of the familiar landmarks. I did not appreciate the stripper, if he was edited out the last episode would have really been a wholesome show for the entire family. Especially with communicating the message of family relationships and how to deal with losing a loved one.
In the end I can yet wish you the best in all your endeavors of finding true love, loyalty, and truth in all relationships and a career that you and your daughter could be proud of. I say that not as a fan but out of love, sister to sister, mother to mother. Peace.
